WOMEN BUSINESS LEADERS FROM COAST-TO-COAST NAMED
TO NEW WIPP NATIONAL ADVISORY BOARD
Mary Schnack to Co-Chair on Communication Council
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Mary Schnack, president of Mary Schnack Media Services, Inc. based in Sedona, AZ had been selected to serve on the Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), the nation’s largest bi-partisan women’s business group, National Partners Advisory Board that is comprised of women business leaders from coast-to-coast. The new Advisory Board is being created to help guide WIPP in implementing its mission as the voice of 15.6 million women entrepreneurs nationwide in the halls of Congress and the Administration.
The WIPP National Partner’s Advisory Board will consist of an Executive Committee and five Councils -- Membership Council, Strategic Alliances and Coalition Partners Council, Communications Council, Research and Development Council, and Public Policy Council. The chairs of each Council will be appointed to a two-year term, and then elected for successive term
“We are pleased to have Schnack on our team in active leadership positions. Her input will further strengthen our voice in Washington when meeting with decision makers, such as Members of Congress and Cabinet Secretaries,” said WIPP President Terry Neese. WIPP is the official public policy group for 29 national women business organizations.
Since founded in 2001, WIPP members have testified at nearly 150 Congressional committee hearings on issues that affect the bottom line of small businesses, particularly tax reform, affordable healthcare and federal contracting opportunities. Also, WIPP members frequently participate in roundtable discussions by the Administration on the economic impact of public policies on business.
Neese and WIPP Chief Operating Officer Barbara Kasoff, who both co-founded WIPP, will serve on the National Partners Advisory Board Executive Committee. Joining Neese and Kasoff on the Executive Committee are Sherry Dale, CEO and Vice President of Express Meat Company in Oklahoma City, Okla.; Donna Davis, President and CEO of Group Event Management in Scottsdale, Ariz.; Pat Soldano, President of Policy and Taxation Group, Santa Ana, Calif.; and Annette Taddeo, President and CEO of Language Speak, Inc. in Miami, Fla.
At the Council level in addition to Schnack, the Co-Chair of the Communications Council is Amy Mallet, President of Personals By Design in Neptune, N.J. Leading the Membership Council as Co-Chairs are Tina Majors, Owner of Majors Management in Oklahoma City, Okla. and Linda Drake, Founder and Chair of TCIM Services, Inc. in Wilmington, Del.
The Strategic Alliance and Coalition Partners Council will be co-chaired by Susan Phillips Bari, President of Women’s Business Enterprise National Council in Washington, DC; Sarah McLaughlin, Owner of The Renaissance Group, Ltd. In Arlington, Va.; Margie Traylor, President of Sitewire in Tempe, Ariz.; and Karen Maples, President of MYUTIQ in Arlington, Va.
Co-chairs of the Research and Development Council are Nancy Quarles, Consultant at Advantage Research Consulting, Inc. in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and Carol E Kuc, President and CEO of Complete Conference Coordinators, Inc. in Naperville, Ill.
The Public Policy Council will comprise of WIPP’s Legislative Issue Committee Chairs. The issue committees include Access to Capital, Education, Energy and Environment, Health Care, Procurement, Regulatory Reform, Social Security, Taxes, Telecommunications and Technology.
